During the recession in 1990s several beggars appeared on the streets of Sevenoaks.

Mainly young men with dogs sitting at their feet.

Also mention was made that the trains for the channel tunnel would use the local line.

During some 'after pub activity' someone bent a hand on the Bus Station clock.

Several months passed before being put back in action again.

'Sevenoaks a Changing Town'

The residents of

Sevenoaks, are due for a

thrill

Now they've widened the

tunnel, down at Tubs Hill.

Freight trains rattling by

throughout the night,

we hope no one gets too

much of a fright.

Will the High Street be full

soon of young men on the

ground

With their cute little dogs

all begging a pound.

The bus station crowd look

up to see

One hand of the clock

bent to quarter past three.

No crumpets and butter for

Miss Peasbody anymore

'Til the bus station clock

once again reaches four.
